Should I Preach to My Anxiety?
Friday Sep 02, 2022
Friday Sep 02, 2022
Often times we are told by well-meaning friends and people within the church that we can overcome anxiety by trying harder. Unfortunately, trying harder can dig us into a deeper hole of anxiety, and we have to be thoughtful about our approach. Today I want to share with you the ways God has ministered to my heart, how I've learned to talk back to my anxiety, and the level of compassion we need for our anxious hearts.
Verses Mentioned:
Romans 8:1
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus."
John 8:1-11
- Story of the woman caught in adultery
Psalm 23
- "The Lord is my Shepherd..." psalm to meditate on in anxious moments
1 Peter 5:10
"And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."

What To Say When You Are Not Ok
Friday Aug 26, 2022
Friday Aug 26, 2022
What do you say to someone when you are not ok? I know for me, it can be hard to be truly honest - even with the people I love and trust. Today I wanted to encourage you to take down some of the barriers that stop you from sharing your true feelings, and to seek out friends that will be there to listen and understand. God has equipped people in your life to bear your burdens with you, it's time to let them in.
Verses mentioned:
Galatians 6:2
"Bear one another's burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ."
Psalm 27:7
"Here oh Lord, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, seek my face. My heart says to you, your face, Lord, do I seek. Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, o you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation."

Getting Away with Jesus When Life Feels Busy
Friday Aug 05, 2022
Friday Aug 05, 2022
Does it ever seem like you don't have time to get away with God? Are you constantly fighting to get a moment of peace in your busy day? Oh friend, I know the feeling! This summer has been a busy one, and I often feel worn down and weary. But I want to encourage you today that Jesus set a beautiful example for us as He chose to get away with the Father. He had a life full of ministry but He still made time to be alone and pray.
Verses Mentioned:
Mark 1:35-36
"And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him, and they found Him and said to Him, 'Everyone is looking for you.'"
Ephesians 2:10
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Today I want to encourage you to consider God's timing...it is so much different than ours! He is not slow to fulfill His promises, and He has a special promise waiting for you dear friend.
Verses Mentioned:
2 Peter 3:9
"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."
Psalm 23:5
"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
